Airlines:

There are many airlines that fly to the Virgin Islands. At first glance, flying into Beef Island, on Tortola, seems like the best choice. However, many sailors have found that flying into St. Thomas then catching the ferry is more reasonable, see interactive map for airports.
My last check on American Airlines, 11/04/10, I found that a round trip flight from LAX to St. Thomas was under $450. Of course, prices will vary according to airlines, dates, and availability.

Ferry Services:

There are three main ferry services serving the islands. The closest dock to the airport in St. Thomas is at Charlotte Amalie. You can the catch the ferry to Road Town where our boat is located. Be sure to check the ferry schedule and leave yourself plenty of time.

Where to Stay:

If you plan on staying at a hotel the night before, I would recommend the the Best Western-Emerald Beach Resort, next to the airport.
